CHSPR Seminar | Improving value from hospital spending

Jason will discuss the latest advances in improving value from hospital spending, with case studies and examples from a number of countries regarding strategies for improving effectiveness and patients’ outcomes. The presentation will incorporate areas such as the definition of value-based care and its application in various areas and patient groups.

Jason is a CHSPR faculty member and is also the Program Head, Health Services and Outcomes, at the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences. His research encompasses health system performance, effectiveness research and clinical outcomes. He has been studying funding policy, methods for improving cross-continuum care, and health systems’ variations in efficiency, effectiveness and quality of care, and leading research evaluating health system funding policy, patients’ outcomes from surgery, measuring risk of adverse events, effects of wait times, gains in health, cost-effectiveness and cost avoidance.
