BC introduced Canada’s first universal no-cost contraception subsidy in 2023. This study estimates the effect of this subsidy on contraception use and out-of-pocket costs for prescription contraception.

Laura Schummers is an Assistant Professor of Health Outcomes at the Collaboration for Outcomes Research and Evaluation in the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Michael Law holds the Canada Research Chair in Access to Medicines at the UBC Centre for Health Services and Policy Research, in the School of Population and Public Health.
