Profile

Michael Law is a Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences and the Academic Director of the Centre for Health Policy at the University of Calgary. His research focuses on pharmaceutical policy, the affordability of prescription drugs, and the use of administrative data for policy evaluation across numerous topic areas. With funding from CIHR and other major funders, his work has been published in leading medical and health policy journals and has received significant media coverage. His interactions with policymakers at the Federal and Provincial levels have informed several significant policy changes that improved access to medicines and reduced drug expenditures in Canada. He was previously a visiting scholar at Harvard Medical School based at the University of Rwanda, which has led to ongoing projects evaluating health interventions in several lower-income countries.
