As part of the 38th annual UBC Centre for Health Services and Policy Research health policy conference, Dr Walter Wodchis will deliver the fouth annual Anne Crichton Lecture on March 12, 2026.
The Quintuple Aim in Canada

The domains of the Quintuple Aim provide a framework for assessing health system performance. Progress on the Quintuple Aim in Canada has been slow. Dr Wodchis will provide insight into the application of the Quintuple Aim in Ontario, with lessons for all provinces and territories.
The Anne Crichton Lecture is supported by the Crichton Health Systems and Policy Learning Fund. This fund was created in honour of Dr Crichton and her immense contributions to the wellbeing of Canadians. The fund honours Dr Crichton’s commitment to improving BC and Canada’s health care systems by funding an annual prize and lecture by an outstanding scholar, on the health system and policy challenges that remain key to health promotion and the prevention of illness. Dr Walter Wodchis is a Professor at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto and the Trillium Health Partners Research Chair in Implementation and Evaluation Science and Senior Scientist at the Institute for Better Health. He is also a Research Scientist at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and an Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. His main research interests are health economics and financing, health care policy evaluation, and long-term care. He is also the principal investigator for the Health System Performance Research Network. In this program, he leads a team focused on research projects that identify complex populations with chronic conditions who transition through multiple health care sectors and develop health system performance measurement for these populations.
